Become a calmer, more capable diver with the Rescue Diver Course & First Aid at Odysseic Divers. Learn to spot and prevent problems, manage diving emergencies, and look after your buddy and yourself. The included first-aid component covers CPR, oxygen, and emergency response — skills that matter in and out of the water. Often the most rewarding course a diver ever takes.
Rescue Diver Course & First Aid on Gili Trawangan
Ask experienced divers about their favourite course and many will say it was Rescue. It's challenging, genuinely useful, and the moment a lot of people stop thinking of themselves as 'just a diver' and start feeling like a confident, switched-on dive buddy.
At Odysseic Divers we believe a great diver isn't only comfortable underwater — they're ready to help when something goes wrong. This course teaches you to prevent problems before they happen, recognise stress in yourself and others, and respond calmly and effectively when it counts.
What You'll Learn
- Spotting stress and tiredness before they become emergencies
- Sharpening your awareness underwater
- Preventing accidents through good planning
- Helping tired, panicked, or unresponsive divers
- Carrying out in-water rescues and self-rescue techniques
- Managing an emergency from start to finish
You'll cover the theory, practise skills in shallow water, then put it all together in realistic open-water rescue scenarios.
First Aid Included
The course includes a complete emergency first-response component — skills that are just as valuable on land as they are at sea:
- Primary assessment and patient care
- CPR and use of an AED
- Emergency oxygen administration
- Secondary assessment and emergency management

You'll need an Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent) and a minimum of four logged dives. A current first-aid certificate is recommended, but if you don't have one, the included training covers it.
