Divemaster Internship on Gili Trawangan

Ever dreamed of turning diving from a holiday into a way of life? The Divemaster Internship at Odysseic Divers is your chance to go beyond recreational diving and become a professional dive leader, surrounded by the reefs of the Gili Islands.

What Is a Divemaster?

The Divemaster is the first professional rating in diving. As a Divemaster you become a role model for other divers, assist instructors during courses, guide certified divers, and play a key part in the day-to-day running of a dive centre. It's also the gateway to becoming an instructor.

Why an Internship?

We believe becoming a professional takes real time and experience — not a rushed week. Over roughly six to eight weeks you'll join the Odysseic Divers team and learn the trade from the inside, combining your training with genuine, hands-on dive-centre experience.

What You'll Develop

  • Professional-level dive leadership
  • Assisting instructors during training
  • Guiding and briefing certified divers
  • Dive planning, navigation, and boat procedures
  • Customer care, risk management, and safety
  • Conservation awareness and reef-friendly practice

You'll also polish your own diving to demonstration quality — a key standard for any dive professional.

Real Diving, Every Day

One of the best parts of an internship is the sheer amount of diving. Most candidates dive one to two times a day across the varied sites of the Gili Islands — reef dives, drift dives, deeper dives, and plenty of turtles and macro life along the way.

Requirements

You'll need a Rescue Diver certification (or equivalent), a minimum of 40 logged dives, and a current medical clearance to start. Don't have your Rescue yet? We can fold it into your programme.
