“Six weeks in, I'm guiding groups and helping on courses. Luca gives straight feedback and it has made my diving much tidier.”

Go pro over six to eight weeks — live the dive-centre life and become a professional dive leader
Turn your passion into a profession with the Divemaster Internship at Odysseic Divers. Over six to eight weeks you’ll live the daily life of a dive centre — assisting instructors, guiding certified divers, and sharpening your skills to professional standard in the warm waters of Gili Trawangan. Your first step toward a career in diving.
Ever dreamed of turning diving from a holiday into a way of life? The Divemaster Internship at Odysseic Divers is your chance to go beyond recreational diving and become a professional dive leader, surrounded by the reefs of the Gili Islands.
The Divemaster is the first professional rating in diving. As a Divemaster you become a role model for other divers, assist instructors during courses, guide certified divers, and play a key part in the day-to-day running of a dive centre. It’s also the gateway to becoming an instructor.
We believe becoming a professional takes real time and experience — not a rushed week. Over roughly six to eight weeks you’ll join the Odysseic Divers team and learn the trade from the inside, combining your training with genuine, hands-on dive-centre experience.
You’ll also polish your own diving to demonstration quality — a key standard for any dive professional.
One of the best parts of an internship is the sheer amount of diving. Most candidates dive one to two times a day across the varied sites of the Gili Islands — reef dives, drift dives, deeper dives, and plenty of turtles and macro life along the way.
You’ll need a Rescue Diver certification (or equivalent), a minimum of 40 logged dives, and a current medical clearance to start. Don’t have your Rescue yet? We can fold it into your programme.
Start your professional journey with Odysseic Divers and take the first step toward a life spent underwater.
Welcome to the dive centre, safety briefing and equipment routines. Professional-level theory begins, with your first dive of the day alongside the team.

Help run open-water training dives and confined-water sessions. Dive planning, navigation and boat procedures.
Brief and guide fun-dive groups, with feedback from your mentor. Customer care, risk management and conservation awareness.
Final skills, dive-leadership assessments and logbook review. Debrief with your mentor and certification on completion.

“I came for a career change and stayed the full eight weeks. You learn the boring parts too, which is the point.”
